Overfilling disrupts facial proportion. Grays follows a strict 'only as much as is missing' principle.

01Overview
HA Filler Contour design that fills only where volume is missing
Filler is an injectable treatment that places hyaluronic acid (HA) into hollow areas to restore volume and refine contour immediately.
- Duration
- 15-30 minutes
- Recommended sessions
- Touch-ups as needed to maintain results
- Downtime
- Slight swelling or bruising possible for 1-3 days
- How long it lasts
- 6 months to over 1 year depending on area and product (individual results vary)
02What to expect
Changes over time
Hyaluronic acid holds water within the skin and supports the surrounding tissue, so shape is created from the moment of injection.
01Right after treatment
Volume is visible immediately. Slight swelling and bruising are possible.
021–2 weeks
Swelling subsides and the product settles into the tissue, becoming more natural.
03Several months
Depending on the area and product it usually holds for six months to a year or more, absorbing gradually, with individual variation.
04Follow-up
Top-up timing is decided by watching how it absorbs. We prefer adding in stages to overfilling.

07FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is filler made of, and how does it create volume?
Filler is an injectable treatment that places a hyaluronic acid (HA) formulation into hollow areas to improve volume and contour right away. Hyaluronic acid holds water within the skin and supports the surrounding tissue, so shape is created from the moment of injection. Over time, it is gradually absorbed by the body.
Which areas and concerns is filler suited to?
It is mainly used for hollow areas such as the nasolabial folds, cheeks, and forehead, and for contour concerns that need definition, such as the chin or nose bridge. We also consider it for those who want to see change right after injection. However, the right approach differs depending on whether hollowness is caused by fat, bone structure, or skin, so we first identify the cause at consultation.
Which filler product do you use, and how much?
The product and volume are decided after consultation. We choose from authentic, MFDS (Korean FDA)-approved hyaluronic acid formulations according to the properties each area needs (definition or softness). The injection volume is planned just as needed, based on the proportions of the whole face.
Does it hurt? How long does it take?
We describe the pain as low to moderate, and the treatment takes about 15-30 minutes. Topical numbing cream is applied beforehand, and the formulation contains a local anesthetic (lidocaine) to reduce discomfort during injection. How it feels varies by area and individual.
Will I bruise or swell? What should I be careful about afterward?
Slight swelling or bruising may appear for about 1-3 days, and the swelling subsides and the filler settles over 1-2 weeks. For the first 24 hours, do not rub or press the injection sites, and avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise, and saunas on the day of treatment. We recommend waiting 2 weeks before massage or intensive skin treatments.
I'm worried it will look unnatural.
By not overfilling and planning just the amount needed based on the proportions of the whole face, the result can be closer to natural. Grays Dermatology follows the principle of filling just as much as is missing, and when needed, we divide the injection across visits rather than injecting all at once. Results vary by individual.
How long does it last?
Typically 6 months to over 1 year depending on the area and product, with individual variation. Because hyaluronic acid is gradually absorbed over time, we decide when to top up based on how well it is holding rather than on a fixed schedule. We recommend topping up in smaller amounts rather than adding a lot at once.
Can it be dissolved if I don't like it?
Hyaluronic acid filler can be adjusted or removed with hyaluronidase, a dissolving enzyme. Whether it is needed, and how, is determined after consultation based on the injection site and its condition. If the filler was done elsewhere and you know the product information, please share it with us.
How is it different from Juvelook Volume or Botox? Can I have them together?
Filler creates shape right away with the injected material, Juvelook Volume stimulates collagen production so the area fills in gradually, and Botox softens expression lines by reducing muscle movement. Because they work differently, they are sometimes planned together depending on your concern, and for jawline concerns filler may be combined with V-OLET. Whether to do them on the same day, and in what order, is decided after consultation.
Are there side effects? Is there anything I should tell you before treatment?
Vascular complications, though rare, have been reported, so a board-certified dermatologist injects directly, planning injection sites based on anatomy and following vascular safety principles such as cannula use. Be sure to tell us at your visit if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking anticoagulants, or have ever had a hypersensitivity reaction to the product's ingredients. If pain worsens or you notice unexpected changes after treatment, please contact the clinic right away.
How much does it cost, and how do I book?
The cost depends on the formulation and volume (cc), and is confirmed after consultation. Reference prices can be found on the price list on our website. To book at Grays Dermatology in Haeundae, Busan, use Naver Booking, our KakaoTalk channel, or call +82-51-710-1891; consultations are also available via LINE.
